Our Story
About The Barn at Crescent Lake
A family-owned lakefront wedding venue in Odessa, FL, built on 20 acres of history, heart, and a deep commitment to the Tampa Bay community.
From a 1946 Summer Camp to Tampa Bay's Most Loved Wedding Venue
The Barn at Crescent Lake is not just a wedding venue. It is a place with roots that reach back eight decades when Odessa, Florida was home to Camp Keystone, one of the oldest continuously operated summer camps in the state. Established in 1946, Camp Keystone welcomed thousands of children from across the country for horseback riding, campfires, nature hikes, and the kind of friendships that last a lifetime. Among its early staff was a young camp counselor named Burt Reynolds, long before he became a Hollywood legend.
In 1991, Old McMicky's Farm opened on the Camp Keystone grounds as an educational farm offering hands-on experiences with farm animals, hayrides, and guided tours for school groups and families throughout the Tampa Bay area. The farm quickly became an institution, hosting field trips for approximately 30,000 children every year and earning a reputation as one of the most unique family destinations in the region.
In 2006, Ralph Zuckerman purchased the shuttered and rundown Camp Keystone and Old McMicky's Farm property. Rather than developing the 20 acres into residential housing, he made a decision that would shape the property's future for generations: he chose to rebuild the farm, restore the land, and create something meaningful for the community.
The barn was first renovated into a wedding venue in 2013, and a second major renovation was completed in summer 2019, transforming it into the 4,000-square-foot air-conditioned reception space couples know and love today. The Lodge, a one-of-a-kind architectural space created from the historic Camp Keystone lodge with its original stone fireplace, was added as a additional event-space option, offering sweeping panoramic views of Crescent Lake.
